Endre Farkas (Hajdunanas, 1948- )
Endre Farkas was born in Hajdunanas, Hungary. He fled with his parents during the 1956 uprising and settled in Montreal, Quebec (Canada).
Poet and playwright, he has published nine books of poetry, most recently In The Worshipful Company of Skinners. His work has been translated into French, Spanish, Italian, Hungarian, Slovenian and Turkish. He has edited anthologies, produced records, and has worked with artists to create the theatre of poetry.
He produced (with Carolyn Marie Souaid) Poetry on the Buses and Circus of Words / Cirque des Mots.
He has given readings and performances across Canada and Europe and in Chile. He holds an M.A. from Concordia University and has been teaching at John Abbott College since 1974.
