Poetry Workshop for Book Clubs & Writing Groups

POETRY WORKSHOPS...IN YOUR OWN HOME !

Established poet, well-known in Montreal’s literary community and also a teacher by trade, will offer a creative writing workshop to your book club or writing group in the Montreal area. The bulk of the session will be spent writing and getting professional feedback.

Topics covered include:

• using imagery to liven up a poem
• the music of words
• where to get ideas for poems
• overcoming writer’s block
• tips on getting published
• poetry markets
• useful books & websites, contests, etc.


$ 100 / 2 hours

$ 150 / 3 hours

Cost includes a free handout of challenging poetry-writing exercises for each participant.


WORKSHOP LEADER: Carolyn Marie Souaid is a teacher, freelance book reviewer for “The Gazette” and the author of five books of poetry. She has been nominated for several awards including the A.M. Klein Prize and the Pat Lowther Memorial Award. She has toured her work at festivals across Canada and in Paris, and has had her poetry produced for CBC Radio.
